HOW TO BECOME AN AMATEUR RADIO OPERATOR (A HAM)

Obtaining your Amateur Radio license and getting into ham radio is easier than ever these days.

The Morse code test requirement for all classes of Amateur Radio licenses was completely removed by the FCC in early 2007. We will be glad to assist you in obtaining the necessary study materials and point you in the right direction once licensed. Testing sessions for your ham radio license are held monthly by volunteer examiners in our area. If interested, please attend one of our monthly meetings or contact us by submitting form on the Contact Us page.

Also, our national amateur radio organization, the American Radio Relay League, has a number of resources available for exploring and joining this enjoyable hobby.
